Now that Avengers: Endgame has been in theaters long enough for the dust to settle and the spoiler ban to lift, we can start looking to the future of the MCU. One movie that fans are anxious to set their eyes on is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Not only are we 99% sure Thor will be joining the team, despite Endgame‘s writers refusing to confirm it, but it just might be drunken Thor, too. Please, please let us see a drunk and chubby God of Thunder one more time.
Aside from that, though, Zac Efron, star of The Greatest Showman and that Netflix movie about Ted Bundy with the really long title, is once again being linked to the role of Adam Warlock. Five years ago, almost to the day, actually, Marvel allegedly sent Efron an unidentified script. Plenty of MCU movies were in works back then, so nobody knew what the role was that he was supposedly being offered. But there were plenty of ideas swirling.
Just like back then though, and like with that rumor from a few months ago, this latest piece of intel says Efron’s eyeing the part of Adam Warlock. So far, the savior of Counter-Earth has only shown up in cocoon form in the MCU. And of course, it was in one of the five post-credits scenes in GotG Vol. 2. In fact, the fan art is already rolling in showing us how Efron would look in costume and we’ve gotta say, it’s pretty badass.
Since production on the hugely anticipated threequel isn’t (reportedly) slated to start until 2021, it seems for now this rumor’s only real purpose is to tease all you High School Musical fans. But to be completely honest, we wouldn’t be opposed to the actor joining the MCU.
What do you think, though? Would you be excited to see Zac Efron play Adam Warlock in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Or are you ready to riot? Head to the comments section down below and let us know.
