This New X-Men: Apocalypse Image Pretty Much Spoils The End Of The Movie

While the first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse may have made it clear that James McAvoy's will have finally become the Professor X we all know from the comics and original X-Men trilogy by the time the credits roll, a new behind the scenes image might just spoil the actual ending of this highly anticipated release.

While the first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse may have made it clear that James McAvoy will have finally become the Professor X we all know from the comics and original X-Men trilogy by the time the credits roll, a new behind the scenes image might just spoil the actual ending of this highly anticipated release.

As you can see above, a scene is clearly going to take place between Charles and Magneto, and the fact that this seems to be a very civil meeting points to the latter seeing the error of his ways and turning on Apocalypse when the iconic villain is inevitably defeated. It may even be an indication that these two will be leading the X-Men together moving forward, something which has happened in the source material.

We’ll have to wait and see on all that, but Bryan Singer revealed in a recent interview that there are some unexpected similarities between X-Men: Apocalypse and Game of Thrones, which gives us a few more clues as to what may go down:

“I’m a huge ‘Game Of Thrones’ fan. There’s a crossover between ‘X-Men’ and ‘Game Of Thrones’, they’re both about a younger generation finding their powers, finding out who they are, and what their place in the world is. I like how the show’s about different groups of people moving towards a common goal. They don’t even know if that’s the right goal, who wants to sit on that uncomfortable throne? I don’t! Everyone in King’s Landing is miserable. But for some reason they want that power.”

That’s a pretty interesting comparison, and while it would be easy to overlook X-Men: Apocalypse in a year which sees the release of movies like Captain America: Civil War and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s definitely a lot to look forward to with this one, and you can bet that we’ll be keeping our eye on it as we approach its May 27th release date.
