Magneto may have stood tall as the true villain behind First Class and Days of Future Past, but next month, it is Oscar Isaac’s En Sabah Nur that will rain down biblical chaos for man and mutant alike in X-Men: Apocalypse.
As the first and, subsequently, oldest mutant in existence, Isaac’s nemesis holds a power that is practically unparalleled, and Bryan Singer’s threequel will have our band of heroes locking horns with an ancient god.
Continuing to chronicle that mythic history today, 20th Century Fox has rolled out a series of historical promos for X-Men: Apocalypse, charting the pharaoh’s reign over Athens and Mycenaeans. Make no mistake, when Apocalypse rises, civilizations fall. Let’s just hope Professor X and Co. have what it takes to best Isaac’s monolithic titan.
