It seems we are set for another Pirates of the Caribbean film as today we get a couple of announcements related to the popular Disney franchise. Firstly, Johnny Depp has said that if everything fell into place he would be interested in yet another film:
As long as we can put all the puzzle pieces together, I would most definitely consider it
That’s not a ringing endorsement of the franchise, but it seems that a fifth film is going forward without Depp’s blessing. Deadline have said that Terry Rossio has been hired to write up the screenplay, on his own. On the other 4 movies he wrote with Ted Elliott, and the fifth film will mark the first time that they haven’t worked together. Jerry Bruckheimer in interviews is quite adamant that this will happen although his deal is yet to be locked in.
Rossio’s deal is made and there are moves, according to reports, to get Rob Marshall, director of this instalment: Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides, back on board. More details coming your way soon.
