Marking the fifth anniversary of Suzanne Collins’ final novel in the series, Mockingjay, Lionsgate has today peeled back the curtain on a striking new banner for its filmic adaptation, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. Highlighting the fall of a dictator, the image sees members of the resistance – led by Katniss – standing tall around President Snow’s ruined monument.

As the fourth and final entry in the mainline series, Mockingjay – Part 2 will turn up the tension to eleven. Now that the entire nation of Panem hinges on the brink of war, heroine and modern-day beacon of hope Katniss Everdeen must spearhead the rebellion from the depths of the dormant District 13 if she really is to overthrow Snow’s totalitarian rule.

Granted, fans of the über-popular series were left underwhelmed by the opening part of Francis Lawrence’s two-fold finale, though all signs point to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 delivering the bona fide action blockbuster that moviegoers have been pining for.

Assembling a star-studded line-up of returning stars and newcomers alike, Lawrence’s swan song will bring together the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, and Donald Sutherland completes the cast as the aforementioned, power-mongering ruler.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 will bring the curtain down on Lionsgate lucrative YA franchise – but maybe not for good – when Lawrence’s finale debuts in theaters on November 20. Until then, you can check out the most recent trailer below to whet your appetite.
