The MCU’s Black Panther cast are a very close-knit bunch, with strong bonds forming between them in the wake of Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death and the emotional production of Wakanda Forever. As such, most of them are eager to return to the fictional nation as soon as possible.
Shaunette Renée Wilson is about to grace our screens as Agent Mason in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, having appeared as a Dora Milaje warrior in Black Panther. Sadly, she was absent from Wakanda Forever, but would jump at the chance to wield a high-tech spear once again, as she revealed to ComicBook at the Dial of Destiny premiere.
“Oh my God. Yeah. Oh, absolutely. That is easy. Without question for sure. And like a kid of a ’90s, it’s such a beautiful time.”
A third Black Panther will eventually arrive, though at this rate we’re expecting it around the end of the 2020s. Thankfully, the MCU will return to Wakanda before then on Disney Plus. The as-yet-untitled Wakanda-based TV show is said to focus on the Dora Milaje, with Danai Gurira all but confirming she’ll return as Okoye to star in it.
If that comes to pass, we suspect Wilson may get a call from Marvel Studios to return to the franchise. Right now, we don’t even know her character’s name, so it’d be neat to see her fleshed out a little, explore how the Dora Milaje function as an intelligence and combat bureau, and what the fallout from Wakanda Forever will be on the country.
We’d also like to see more of Shuri as the new Black Panther in that show, but Marvel Studios may want to Letitia Wright back to return in the long-rumored Young Avengers project.
