With exactly seven months to go until the release of It: Chapter Two, fans are starting to get a little anxious waiting for the first footage from the highly anticipated horror sequel, and in a new piece from Screen Rant, some options are suggested for when a trailer is most likely to come our way.
Though there was some speculation that a preview might premiere during last Sunday’s Super Bowl, it’s worth noting that a trailer drop this month would be significantly ahead of schedule compared to the marketing for the first It. In fact, the release dates for the 2017 horror hit and its upcoming sequel are almost identical – September 5th for the former, and September 6th for the latter – so given that the trailer for the first movie came out late March during CinemaCon, we can perhaps expect something similar for Chapter Two. Specifically, it’s argued that the April 1st launch of CinemaCon 2019 suggests that we could be just under two months away from getting some footage.
It sounds like a solid enough prediction, but regardless of when the trailer drops, fans will no doubt be keen to see the new Losers’ Club in action. Taking the story forward a full 27 years, while you can expect the young cast of the first film to show up once more, the focus this time will be on their grown up equivalents, played by James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Jay Ryan, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone and Andy Bean.
Of course, you can expect Pennywise to be his same old sadistic self, played once more by Bill Skarsgard, but we’ll see if the killer clown has found any new ways to terrorize the town of Derry when It: Chapter Two hits theaters on September 6th, 2019.
