From the moment Taika Waititi signed on to helm Thor: Ragnarok, the New Zealand filmmaker made a point of taking Marvel’s God of Thunder in a totally new direction.
Gone was the drab storytelling and forgettable human characters, while Thor’s luscious locks also received the chop – courtesy of a very heartfelt cameo by Stan Lee, no less. But we’re now learning that Chris Hemsworth’s Norse god may be sporting his long hair once again by the time Avengers 4 rolls around in 2019.
Filming on the Joe and Anthony Russo blockbuster continues in Atlanta, where the pic is rubbing shoulders with Ant-Man and the Wasp and Sony’s Venom spinoff, and YouTube channel Noticias Geek TV (via Screen Rant) recently snuck a peek of what appears to be a long-haired Thor coming face-to-face with Captain America (or Tony Stark, perhaps?).
And considering the God of Thunder was totally absent from Civil War, we imagine Odinson still has some catching up to do when it comes to the Avengers – even if he’s part of the team tasked with handling Thanos in next year’s Infinity War.
Another thing worth keeping in mind is that Avengers 4 may feature flashback scenes, which, if true, will presumably be funneled through Doctor Strange’s all-powerful Time Stone. That’s one of six gems to catch the eye of Marvel’s Mad Titan, who is poised to be the biggest (and baddest!) MCU villain to date.
Here’s an admittedly blurry photo of that purported flashback:

It’s impossible to know for sure, and with Avengers 4 slated for release on May 3rd, 2019, it’ll be an awful long time before Marvel begins dolling out the answers. We can, however, look forward to the NA launch of Thor: Ragnarok tomorrow, November 3rd.
