After the pitiful release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, all eyes are on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to see if the superhero movie can turn things around for the MCU or if Marvel is simply too far gone to save.

Thankfully, director James Gunn is well aware of the “superhero fatigue” that plagues Marvel, and is making every effort to circumnavigate the obstacle. According to him, “not having an emotionally grounded story,” is a recipe for disaster, which leads one to assume Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will pull on all the heartstrings, especially since it’ll be this group of heroes’ last hoorah.

With Marvel’s Phase Five now going into its second installment, it’s about this time in the Multiverse Saga we can expect to see the fruits of the previous films’ labors pay off (hopefully). Villains like Adam Warlock are among the few fresh faces expected to bridge the gap between where the MCU is now and where it wants to go. Actor Will Poulter famously bulked up for the role, and if Gunn’s words are anything to go by, he’ll be hanging around the MCU for a while.

All that to say, you won’t want to miss this movie, and the best way to do that is to snag your tickets as soon as possible. Here’s what you need to know to secure your spot in a movie theater near you.

Where and when do tickets for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 go on sale?

Tickets for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 officially went on sale Monday, April 3. If you live in the U.S. you can purchase your tickets through a variety of websites including Fandango, AMC, Atom Tickets, Cinemark, MovieTickets.com

For those who live in the U.K., tickets can be purchased through Odeon, Picturehouse, Showcase, Empire, Vue, and Curzon

The movie will reportedly have a longer runtime than the previous two installments, but according to Gunn, “there is no fat” and “not a second is wasted.” Since it’s been six years between Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, Marvel has decided to give the threequel the Marvel Studios: Legends treatment for fans in need of a refresher. It’ll hit Disney Plus just a few short days before Vol. 3 hits the big screen.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premieres in theaters on May 5.
