Insidious: The Red Door is set to haunt theaters tomorrow, and the plight of the Lambert family is looking more dire than ever; being the fifth and apparently final film in the mainline horror franchise, it looks like Josh and company have one last shot at ridding themselves of these heinous demons once and for all.
Needless to say, this is one bookend that will get the blood pumping, but who’s going to be allowed to tune in to the Insidious conclusion in theaters?
Is Insidious: The Red Door rated PG-13?
Insidious: The Red Door is indeed rated PG-13, a rating it received for violence, terror, frightening images, strong language, and suggestive references.
That, of course, is the American rating; in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Colombia, it can only be viewed by patrons 15 years of age or older, while the likes of the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Ireland are even more restrictive, requiring moviegoers to be at least 16.
Either way, it’s par for the course for the Insidious saga, which has boasted the rating ever since the first film released back in 2011. For those of you familiar with the ins-and-outs of the horror series, then, don’t expect many graphic surprises. That’s not to say that The Red Door will simply be more of the same, though, especially with Patrick Wilson pulling double duty as his bread-and-butter character of Josh Lambert, while also making his directorial debut.
At the end of the day, we’ll just have to see what Insidious: The Red Door has in store for us when it makes its cinematic bow on July 7.
