Universal first debuted this sneak peek exclusively in IMAX cinemas, pairing it with F9, but now it’s made its way online. This five-minute preview opens with a major first for the franchise – a trip into the planet’s distant past, where we get to witness a spectacular showdown between a T-Rex and the debuting Gigantosaurus, one of two new dinos featured in the film.

The action then cuts to the present-day, where the Rex we know and love from previous movies crashes a drive-thru theater screening, crushing cars and careless teens underfoot, with the military helicopter on its tail helpless to stop it. It looks like prehistory is repeating itself and humanity is no longer at the top of the food chain. “Dinosaurs rule the earth,” reads the tagline.

Dominion follows on from the big twist at the end of 2018’s Fallen Kingdom, which saw the creatures escape into the wilderness. It’s no wonder Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing will need some expert help in saving the day this time around. Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are reprising their iconic roles as Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm, respectively,

None of these five actors are present in this promo, with Universal likely planning to hold back our first look at the Jurassic Park trio’s return for the first proper trailer. Though, that said, we all know the dinos are the real stars of the show.

Jurassic World: Dominion is on course to release in just under a year’s time on June 10th, 2022.
