Warwick Davis Reveals His Deleted Cameo From Star Wars: The Last Jedi

You might not recognize his face, but Warwick Davis is a Star Wars legend, having portrayed multiple costumed characters since he first played Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi. With that in mind, fans combed through The Last Jedi in hopes of discovering which alien Davis could be behind, but they came up short - and that's because his cameo in the film didn't make it into the theatrical cut.

You might not recognize his face, but Warwick Davis is a Star Wars legend, having portrayed multiple costumed characters since he first played Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi. With that in mind, fans combed through The Last Jedi in hopes of discovering which alien Davis could be behind, but they came up short – and that’s because his cameo in the film didn’t make it into the theatrical cut.

Fear not, though, for Davis’ character will be restored in the upcoming home video release of The Last Jedi, and we even know what it looks like. The actor himself shared a screenshot of him in costume along with a hilarious behind-the-scenes shot of him trying to preserve the modesty of his character, which he describes as his “one-eyed naked alien.”

The fact that his cameo in The Last Jedi didn’t make it into cinemas probably doesn’t phase Davis – it’s not like he’s short on Star Wars appearances. After all, he voiced the assassin Rukh in the recent final season of Rebels and is set to appear in May’s Solo as well. Reports say he’ll play Fight Droid 2 in the pic, who’s “decked out with weapons” including a buzz saw and chainsaw.

Circling back to The Last Jedi, though, and Davis’ role is far from the only deleted scene restored on the Blu-ray release. In fact, there are a total of 14 sequences reinserted into the extended cut of the movie, with key scenes including an extended battle between Finn and Captain Phasmaa third lesson between Luke and Rey and that cameo from Tom Hardy as a stormtrooper.

You can catch Warwick Davis’ turn as a clothing-optional cyclops when Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 27th.
