Vin Diesel’s love of social media is a genius marketing tool that studios are clearly happy for him to indulge in. Yesterday, the actor, who’s currently at work filming The Last Witch Hunter, posted more photos from that shoot. With the man himself decked out in a classy beard. He’s now taken to his Facebook again today, for what he’s dubbed ‘Toretto Tuesday” – named after his Fast character, Dom Toretto – to deliver new pics from the set of Fast & Furious 7. You can check them out below.
Production on the anticipated sequel to last year’s Fast & Furious 6 was halted last year following the tragic death of leading man Paul Walker. With a troubled restart to what was no doubt a very difficult set, the returning cast and crew completed the shoot in early July. With director James Wan currently in post-production putting the finishing touches on the flick in time for next spring, we can expect the marketing campaign to amp up further with input from the studio.
Until then, we’re more than happy with the barrage of pics, info and chatter from Diesel, who took to Facebook to offer a brief preview of the upcoming trailer. His touching comments about Walker are all the more bittersweet now that actor has seen collated footage of the pair in action:
Universal came to visit, to show the trailer for FF7…
Speechless… yeah, it was that INCREDIBLE!
I must also say, that it was emotional and bittersweet… we all went above and beyond to make Pablo proud, but man, I wish he could see what we have created and just how far we have come.
The movie features returning stars Diesel, Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. Jason Statham, Ronda Rousey, Kurt Russell and Tony Jaa will all make their franchise debuts.
Fast & Furious 7 opens in theatres on April 3rd, 2015.
