As for Logan, his outlook is trickier to forecast. Though I’m sure Marvel Studios will most certainly weave such an immensely popular character into their overall tapestry, they’re in no rush to do so after Dark Phoenix bombing at the box office. After all, the X-Men weren’t even factored into plans for Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Still, it’s fun pondering the possibilities of what tomorrow might bring. More often than not, it’s Tom Hardy who’s been fan-cast as Wolverine in online conversations these days, and I can certainly see why. After having played bone-crushers like Bane and Venom, Wolverine wouldn’t be a bad choice for his next gig. And thanks to a digital artist such as Mizuri, we can gaze into the crystal ball with the image found below.

From the look of it, Hugh Jackman’s costume worn in X-Men: Days of Future Past seemingly served as the foundation, though the familiar blue and yellow coloring has been applied as well. On top of that, Hardy is sporting a new ‘do and signature Wolvie chops.

Amazingly, had First Class director Matthew Vaughn helmed Days of Future Past, then this could’ve become a reality at Fox much sooner, as he was quoted as saying:

“My plan was “First Class,” then second film was new young Wolverine in the 70’s to continue those characters, my version of the X-Men…When I finished the “Days of Future Past” script with it ready to go I looked at it and said, “I really think it would be fun to cast Tom Hardy or someone as the young Wolverine and then bring it all together at the end.”

Right now, no release date has been confirmed for Venom 2, but an October 2020 debut seems most likely.
