To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Universal and Legendary made the announcement today that up to 15 of their upcoming movies will be released in IMAX, renewing their deal with the Canadian theatre company up through 2017. Among the lucky titles mentioned in the press release are some films we definitely expected to get IMAX releases, as well as some surprises.
Moviegoers will have the option of seeing blockbusters Fast & Furious 7, Jurassic World, Everest, Crimson Peak and Warcraft in the more immersive format, in addition to the long-delayed Seventh Son and this fall’s Dracula Untold, two lesser known films that we weren’t sure would end up receiving an IMAX release.
