Does This Batman Begins Villain Have A Cameo In Justice League?

Given his knack for toning down the more ridiculous elements of Batman characters, serial killer Victor Zsasz is a perfect fit for Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. A psychopath who carves a tally mark into his skin for every kill he makes, he’s not the usual gimmicky Gotham criminal.

It is not surprising, then, that the character made a cameo appearance in Batman Begins. In the movie, he’s one of Falcone’s thugs who Dr. Crane gets out of a jail sentence by claiming he’s insane, while later he’s seen escaping from Arkham Asylum during the film’s finale. For a well respected and interesting villain like Zsasz though, it’s not much of a role and ever since, fans have been waiting for him to show up on the big screen once again. And now, with Justice League on the horizon, they might just get their wish.

File this under speculation for now, but if you’ve seen the leaked post-credits scene for the film, you’ll recall a moment where a guard at Arkham Asylum goes to check on Lex Luthor in his cell only to find a decoy – a man who looks a bit like Lex, but isn’t, as the supervillain has already escaped. And while we never get this man’s name in the scene, it’s hard to deny that he looks, and acts, an awful lot like Victor Zsasz.

Check out the video below and you’ll see what we mean (skip to the 2:25 mark):

Interesting, right? Look, Zsasz will never be a villain on the same level as the likes of Joker, Penguin, or Two-Face. Even so, with a strong actor in the role, WB can easy turn this deviant into a bona-fide threat and if this truly is him in Lex’s cell, then it’s a brilliant way to set the character up for future films. Possibly even The Batman.

Again, though, this is in no way confirmed and is simply just some good ol’ fashioned speculation. We likely won’t get a firm answer on it in Justice League, either, which means fans will be left to debate over the matter for some time to come. If you ask us, however, we’d lean towards it being Zsasz. There are just too many similarities between him and the man seen as Lex’s decoy for it to be a coincidence.
