The first trailer for My Week With Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, has finally been released. In the film, Kenneth Branagh plays Laurence Olivier amongst a loaded cast consisting of Eddie Redmayne, Judi Dench, and Dominic Cooper. There’s even a small, supporting role portrayed by Emma Watson from the Harry Potter series.
My Week With Marilyn chronicles a week in the life of a young Brit (Redmayne), hired by Olivier to watch Monroe, who has a brief relationship with her while she’s on the set of The Prince and the Showgirl.
Now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m pretty sure that Williams is perfect for the part of Marilyn Monroe. She’s beautiful and charismatic, and she really pulls off that classic Marilyn haircut. The film appears to have all of the glamour and drama necessary for such a topic, and it’s definitely enough to make me excited.
