First Trailer For The MCU’s Phase 4 Leaks Online From D23

Even though there are no more MCU movies coming out this year, the last few days have proved to be an emotional rollercoaster of sorts for Marvel fans. Leading up to the biennial D23 Expo (which has often been the source for big announcements focused on Disney's superhero films), we caught wind of news that the House of Mouse and Sony Pictures failed to make a deal regarding the financing and production of future Spider-Man movies, effectively booting the friendly neighborhood webslinger from the MCU.

While fans are still doing everything they can to bring Peter Parker back into the fold, there’s some good news to look forward to. Today alone, a ton of new footage for a variety of upcoming films and projects (including The Rise of Skywalker and Black Widow) has leaked, and we just caught wind that a trailer for Phase 4 of the MCU has made its way online.

The new footage (which comes courtesy of Twitter account @Peterquillsl) paints a picture of the company’s vision for a handful of films and upcoming Disney Plus shows, though from what we can tell, there’s not a ton of new footage. Fans are promised a “different side of Clint Barton,” who’ll be getting a brand new series that’s simply titled Hawkeye, and as for Marvel’s What If…?, it looks like Disney is planning to explore how the MCU as a whole could have panned out if small things had been changed along the way.

With regards to Loki, executive producer Stephen Broussard promises that the series will answer the long-standing question of what happened to the trickster god after he escaped during the time heist from Avengers: Endgame, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is being touted as the MCU’s first scary film.

The trailer also shows off little tidbits about WandaVision, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and of course, the upcoming standalone Black Widow prequel. While this new promotional video is exciting, we’re still hoping that Disney will give us some early footage for upcoming Phase 4 films (personally, we wouldn’t mind seeing Simu Liu’s screen test for Shang-Chi).

As always, we’ll be covering news from D23 around the clock, so keep checking back over the weekend for brand new announcements and updates as they come down the pipeline.
