Perhaps one of my most anticipated films of the year is Ridley Scott’s The Counselor, simply because I absolutely love everyone involved with the film. Scott himself is a legend and actors like Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem are amongst the best in the business. The amount of talent involved here is overwhelming and I can’t see The Counselor being anything other than a huge success.
For those who haven’t been keeping up, the film stars Fassbender as the titular counselor, who finds himself in over his head after he gets mixed up with the drug trade. Co-starring alongside Fassbender, Pitt and Bardem are Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Dean Norris, Rosie Perez, John Leguizamo, Natalie Dormer, and Goran Višnjić.
Today, 20th Century Fox has released a number of new images from the film. While they’re nothing groundbreaking, it’s always nice to get some additional looks at our favorite actors in character and keeping in line with the previous marketing material that we’ve seen, everything looks great.
With a script by Cormac McCarthy, and the aforementioned talent in front and behind the camera, I really don’t see how things can go wrong here. The recent trailer had me very impressed and though it’s unfortunate that the film will be skipping TIFF 2013, I cannot wait to see it when it arrives in theatres.
