Now that Marvel has the rights to the X-Men, there are so many crossovers the studio can pull off that would blow fans’ minds. A big one is having Spider-Man and Wolverine meet in the MCU. The peppy young wall-crawler and the grizzled immortal are such polar opposites that the comics have got a lot of fun out of pairing them up in the past. And Tom Holland would like to see one of those occasions brought to the screen.
While promoting Spider-Man: Far From Home, the young actor was asked which characters yet to make it into the MCU would he like to team-up with. He immediately picked Wolverine, citing one particular comic book story that he wants to recreate in live-action.
“I would like to do Spider-Man and Wolverine. There’s a really, really interesting story in the Ultimate Spider-Man where Spider-Man and Wolverine swap bodies for a day. And like, Peter Parker wakes up in Wolverine’s body.”
Of course, Holland is speaking of Ultimate Spider-Man #67 by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley. Hilariously, Bendis saw this interview and couldn’t believe that the star had referenced his relatively obscure comic from back in 2004.
EVERYone else can see this too, right? https://t.co/pJ8H9hGRNs

Well, we have some good news and some bad news for Holland and other fans who want to see a Spider-Man/Wolverine team-up. The good is that our source tells us that Marvel has ideas for Spidey to cross paths with both Logan and Deadpool once the latter two are folded into the MCU. The bad is that the introduction of the X-Men isn’t expected to happen for a while.
It’s generally assumed that their arrival is at least five years away. The wait will probably be worth it, though. Especially if the door will finally be open to have such crazy crossovers as the one Holland’s pitched.
