Today is a day of the week, which means a number of Netflix shows are in danger of cancellation from the minute the clock strikes midnight. If that sounds like an exaggeration or hyperbole, then let’s hope you’re not a fan of Spanish-language romantic comedy In Love All Over Again.
That’s right; the series that ran for two seasons and spent some time hovering around the global Top 10 has been axed, making it the third high-profile original hailing from Spain to bite the dust in a matter of days. Presumably, Netflix will be hedging its local bets big on the incoming Bird Box Barcelona.
Following in the footsteps of sci-fi fantasy Welcome to Eden – which also got a two-season run before biting the dust, as well as spin-off sequel Sky High: The Series, In Love All Over Again is no more, with no official reasons given as of yet for why the plug was pulled on yet another popular show.
Set in 2003, there’s even the warm and fuzzy glow of nostalgia to bathe in as the story follows a woman who heads to Madrid with big dreams of breaking into the movie business as a director. From there, she meets the people who become her fastest and firmest friends, along with the handsome Julio.
Sadly, their story will not be getting a picture perfect ending as Netflix seeks to trim the herd once more, but at least it won’t be doing a Disney and immediately erasing any of its recent casualties from existence.
