Warning: this article contains potential spoilers for DC’s The Flash.
It seems that DC is really chasing three for three with questionable its questionable promotional efforts, after those Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Black Adam cameo spoilers. This time, however, DC may have accidentally spoiled an emotional moment for the upcoming superhero blockbuster, The Flash.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, DC shared a clip from the upcoming superhero film, where Barry meets his mother, Nora Allen in the supermarket. She may not have recognized that who she’s talking to is an adult version of her son, but she tells the civilian-dressed speedster to tell his mother how much he cares about her.
While this clip was released in celebration of Mother’s Day, some fans claimed that DC may have spoiled one of its emotional story beats through this new promo. But is it really a spoiler when the trailers teased time travel and Barry talking to Ben Affleck‘s Batman about going back to save his mother?
Regardless, some people claim that this scene spoiled the film, taking away the audience’s chance to witness an emotional moment blind.
Only 30 days remain until DC’s The Flash hits theaters, and set itself as the catalyst for the upcoming DCU reboot. The film is said to follow the Flashpoint event from the comics, where Barry goes back in time to save his mother, only for things to change in the future. The film is set to have Michael Keaton return as Batman and early reviews from the CinemaCon premiere claimed that the film is “the best superhero film to date.”
If you’re excited to witness one of the the final chapters of the Synderverse era, The Flash will dash into theaters on June 15, 2023.
