The reasons to be fearful about the future of Marvel’s Multiverse Saga just keep on coming. Screenwriter Jeff Loveness has already fallen short in endearing himself to the MCU fandom after his franchise debut on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but his latest comments about his next high-profile assignment — Avengers: The Kang Dynasty — have caused further upset among the faithful.
In a shocking revelation, Loveness confirmed in a recent interview that the Fantastic Four likely won’t appear in The Kang Dynasty, nor will Mahershala Ali’s Blade. Considering that Marvel’s First Family are among the most eagerly anticipated MCU arrivals over the next couple of years, the fact that they will be sitting out the next big crossover event is naturally not going down well with fans.
In a Reddit thread dissecting the news, the comments are full of folks reacting with a mix of anger, frustration, and hurt at the update that Kang Dynasty would include Mr. Fantastic and the rest.

On the other hand, there are more rational people out there who understand what the logic might be here. Specifically, that the Fantastic Four might be being held back for a big role in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Remember how Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame did the same thing?
Still, whatever way you cut it, there’s no doing that Marvel has seriously dropped the ball with making the most of Ali as Blade. The guy was first announced back in 2019, after all. Honestly, the Daywalker being MIA from TKD might be an even bigger crime than the FF’s absence.
Fantastic Four is scheduled for Feb. 2025, with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty currently due to follow that on May 3.
