Vin Diesel has once again shared info on his new project with his fans via his Facebook page. The actor, who is known for giving his fans information on his projects before everyone else does, has released some concept costume art for the new Chronicles Of Riddick film, entitled The Chronicles Of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking.
Diesel added in the caption of the photo, stating that principle photography on the film is begin within weeks in Canada:
“Grrr…
An early Riddick Necro-armor design… Haha, I had to share.
It takes hundreds of artists to make a movie… I am excited about the work this group of artists, Our Riddick crew, is doing up in Canada.
P.s. Riddick starts principal photography in weeks… much to do, much to do…”
This is exciting news, especially for those who have been begging for a new Riddick film for years. After all, The Chronicles of Riddick has an enormous cult following.
The Chronicles Of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking will reunite Diesel with director David Thowy, who directed the previous two Riddick films as well as co-star Karl Urban. No news on any other returning stars or any new actors joining the project, but with principle photography only around the corner, we can assume those announcements aren’t too far away.
With filming so close, this also means that we can expect The Chronicles Of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking in cinemas by either late 2012, or more likely summer 2013, alongside Diesel’s other project, The Fast and The Furious 6, which is scheduled to start shooting in April 2012 for a May 24th, 2013 release.
A synopsis has been released for The Chronicles Of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking, which gives us an overview of what we can expect:
“Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.”
We will be sure to bring you any further updates on the film, as soon as Diesel shares them, but in the mean time, check out the concept costume artwork, released by Diesel, below.
