Soon after confirming reports of Sean Harris’ involvement in the upcoming sequel, Christopher MacQuarrie took to Twitter to reveal the first set photo for Mission: Impossible 5.
Essentially, the image features the film’s returning A-Team of sorts, with Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner and of course, Ethan Hunt himself, Tom Cruise, all posing for a snap.

Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and Sean Harris as the aforementioned big bad are also set to star in the anticipated spy thriller, though it appears the trio were either camera shy or just not present during the first day on set — we suspect the latter.
Mission: Impossible 5 marks the first entry into the franchise with Christopher MacQuarrie at the helm. Mind you, given the screenwriter-cum-director’s work with Cruise on Jack Reacher — not to mention his script work with this year’s excellent Edge of Tomorrow — the next chapter in the series is shaping up very nicely indeed.
Of course, at this early stage not much is known in terms of story. It’s understood that Robert Elswit — the astute cinematographer behind Inherent Vice, Nightcrawler and the most recent helping of Ethan Hunt and co., Ghost Protocol — will be on board to shoot the movie, and filming locations include the likes of Vienna and London.
So basically, we can expect the same globe-trotting action that the franchise has delivered time and time again when Mission: Impossible 5 hits theaters on December 25th, 2015.
