Hot on the heels of their ambitious horror anthology The ABCs Of Death, Drafthouse producers Ant Timpson and Tim League decided that the world needed another collection of horror shorts spanning every letter of the alphabet – and adventurous horror fans much like myself rejoiced. The ABCs Of Death 2 was greenlit, the directors were selected, and the inevitable waiting game began.

I tried on numerous occasions to extract as much information as possible from contributing artists – Jerome Sable, Aharon Keshales, Navot Papushado were tight-lipped in our interviews – but it looks like Magnet and Drafthouse are ready to start opening the floodgate of horrors hiding amidst these 26 short stories that are ready to shock, scare, and revolt viewers in ways the original didn’t dare.

While certain sites were originally given their own exclusive images, we’re now able to collect the smattering of gross faces, forest scenes, and creepy monsters that will be featured in The ABCs Of Death 2, showcasing just a few directors with the first wave.

Over at Bloody Disgusting, we have stills from segments directed by Erik Matti’s (On the Job, Magic Temple), Jen and Sylvia Soska (American Mary, See No Evil 2), and Julian Gilbey (A Lonely Place to Die). Matti gives us some creepy looking grandma creature, the Soska sisters paint the town red, and Gilbey puts a man in a less-than-desirable predicament.

Next is Shock Till You Drop‘s release of stills, showing off E.L. Katz (Cheap Thrills) and Alejandro Brugués’ (Juan Of The Dead) contributions. It’s not revealed which director is connected to which picture, but for my money, I’m saying Katz’ style is more in line with the sexy pale ladies kissing, and Brugués’ comedic styles fit more with the scared castaways begging for mercy from a tall pair of legs?

Last but not least are Dread Central‘s contributions, two director-less pictures showing a zombie head and another horrific old hag. Your guess is as good as mine as to who thought these up!

I was an outspoken fan of The ABCs Of Death, so I didn’t really need a batch of pictures to get me excited for The ABCs Of Death 2 – but I’ll take ’em anyway! I wonder – which segment will take home the coveted top honors I bestowed upon “D is for Dogfight” last year?! In any case, check out the pictures and let us know which director you’re looking forward to most (listed below) when the film is released later this year!
