It’s an exhausting time to be a Marvel fan, as the internet runs through a seemingly inexhaustible series of predictions on when the first Avengers 4 trailer could be dropping, only to be repeatedly proven wrong by the mere passage of time.
The fan frustration has got so intense that even Thanos’ Indian dub actor Rana Daggubati has joined the masses in wondering what the holdup is, taking to Twitter to pose one question to Marvel and Disney’s Indian branches:
“#WhereistheAvengers4Trailer? Don’t make Thanos ask again!”
While the effort’s appreciated, Marvel India is unlikely to provide any answers, especially when they’ve taken such pleasure in trolling their followers over the trailer news. A couple of days ago, the company’s own Twitter account made a self-fulfilling prophecy when they posted the message, “Expecting #WhereIsTheAvengers4Trailer comments in 3, 2, 1…” Of course, the fans obliged.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s own Tony Stark dub actor recently mentioned that he’s already recorded his parts for the Avengers 4 trailer, offering high praise for the footage he saw and claiming that the upcoming film will be “something special.” You can decide for yourself whether his endorsement of the first teaser makes the ongoing wait easier or harder, but it’s nice to get some confirmation that the preview is more or less completed.
Until recently, it was a popular theory that the trailer would be dropping today in conjunction with this evening’s Avengers: Infinity War screening and Q&A hosted by co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo, but with this notion looking less and less likely by the hour, the fans and theorists have been sent back to the drawing board. And so the speculation continues, but at least the film itself looks to have its release date firmly in place, with Avengers 4 set to hit theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
