Hugh Jackman is likely done as Wolverine for good, with the actor previously declaring that even the prospect of joining the MCU isn’t quite enough to get him to undo his farewell to the character in 2017’s Logan. So, this means Marvel Studios needs to find someone new to play the part now that they’ve got the rights to the X-Men back.

Already, fans have come up with several possible contenders, with one current popular choice being Kingsman star Taron Egerton. A snappy bit of photo-shopping from BossLogic has teased what it would look like if Jackman passed the iconic yellow and black suit – that he never wore on screen – over to Egerton, but here’s how it could look if the actor actually got to appear in costume.

Fan artist Dalton Barrett has created this awesome piece seen down below, which gives Egerton the classic wolf-ears haircut and decks him out in the brown variant of the classic Wolverine get-up.

As cool as it would be to have Egerton suit up as Logan in the MCU, the actor himself has played down the rumors several times now. The good news, though, is that the star still has every hope of joining the franchise, he just doesn’t think that he’s the right guy to take over from Jackman. Naturally, Egerton’s comments on the matter have led fans to theorize that he’s already lined up for a different Marvel role behind the scenes, but that’s just speculation for now.

In any case, other picks you’ll often see online include Scott Eastwood, Keanu Reeves and Tom Hardy. Daniel Radcliffe is another one who’s become widely linked to the character, but the Harry Potter star has recently pulled an Egerton and made clear that he doesn’t think he’s right for the coveted role.
