A few days ago it was announced that Marion Cotillard would star in Academy Award nominee Asghar Farhadi‘s next film. The director burst onto the American film scene last year with his highly praised film A Separation, which got him an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
Today, Variety is reporting that Tahar Rahim will co-star in the film. Rahim, a French actor who came to international light in 2009 when he starred in A Prophet, just had his new film Rust and Bone premiere at the Cannes film festival.
Farhadi’s next film will begin shooting in Paris this Fall and is being described as an “emotional social thriller in the vein of A Separation.” Little else is known about the project other than that Farhadi added that he hopes to present viewers “with questions rather than answers.”
The article from Variety also reports that there is also another unnamed Iranian actor who is currently closing a deal to star in the film.
