With casting for IT: Chapter Two having been underway in recent months, it’s all the more thrilling to see various goodies trickle online now that filming has officially begun. As such, pictures taken from the set will hopefully become a regular occurrence, and perhaps actress Jessica Chastain will continue turning in progress reports now that she’s inhabiting the role of adult Bev.
As it turns out, the latest treat arrives in the form of a synopsis, which you had to figure was coming before long. Of course, it’s nothing too spoiler-ish, but here it is:
Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “IT CHAPTER TWO” brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.
Sure, that’s all stuff we’ve known for some time, but the studio probably wants to preserve some surprises for opening weekend. Granted, you could argue that the book has been around for decades, but director Andy Muschietti showed us in the first film that he’s not afraid of throwing a few curveballs, or to somewhat update certain aspects for the times.
Now, none of us can rule out the possibility of a more detailed description surfacing as the fall of 2019 inches closer, but this is succinct and to-the-point enough that it could very well be posted on Fandango and other websites where folks go to purchase their movie tickets.
IT: Chapter Two opens in theaters on September 6, 2019 and Bill Skarsgård, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Jay Ryan, Isaiah Mustafa, Teach Grant and Jess Weixler will all star alongside Chastain.
