After seeing the astonishing first trailer for Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, we all knew that official details regarding the Blu-ray were imminent. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait very long at all, as our friends at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have delivered the goods.
As it so happens, Task Force X’s R-rated animated outing will be made available digitally on March 27, with Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD releases following on April 10. And on those dates, DC fans can expect to see “Amanda Waller’s top secret ‘Task Force X’ – Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn and Copperhead – on a mission to retrieve a mystical object so powerful that they’re willing to risk their own lives to steal it. But the Suicide Squad isn’t the only group of villains seeking to possess the object. The race is on for the golden prize … and, to stay alive, second place isn’t an option.”
Being a longtime lover of DC animation myself, I know full well that the bonus features to be included on these home video releases are to be looked forward to almost as much as the feature films themselves. As usual, a look at the next entry in the line – The Death of Superman, in this case – tops the bill, with a rare commentary being one of the perks to follow.
