Right at the start of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, we’re introduced to the menagerie of bad guys via a bunch of colorful and stylish promos. Each character’s criminal history is outlined very briefly on the screen, and apparently one Squad member in particular is revealed to be the real murderer of Jason Todd, AKA Robin the Boy Wonder.
I didn’t pick up on this myself, but The Wrap is reporting that during Harley Quinn’s bio, it states that she was the one that killed Batman’s young sidekick. Up until this point, we all believed that it was The Joker because of the defaced statue of Robin that’s glimpsed in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it looks like the Clown Prince of Crime may have actually had his protege take out Todd.
This obviously alters the Batman/Joker dynamic that we thought was in place considerably, and throwing Harley into the mix could have major ramifications for the future of the DCEU as it pertains to these characters.
