With that in mind, you may be wondering when the next trailer could be coming our way. And in a recent report from the usually reliable Making Star Wars, fans are finding hope that another batch of footage might be coming sooner than previously expected. According to the site’s sources, J.J. Abrams’ upcoming trilogy-closer is scheduled for a panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, which is held from July 18th to the 21st. MSW also speculates that the panel could be used to premiere a trailer, or at least a behind-the-scenes reel.

Bear in mind that none of this has been confirmed just yet, and the theory of a July release certainly isn’t the only trailer prediction that’s made the rounds lately. Both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, for instance, followed the pattern of a teaser release during Star Wars Celebration, followed by the first full trailer in October. And since The Rise of Skywalker also released a teaser during last month’s convention, it doesn’t seem too unreasonable to predict that the film’s next trailer could still be five months away from dropping.

All the same, feel free to hold out hope that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will break from the pattern with an SDCC premiere. And if not, then the panel should at least have a few insights to offer about the new movie. After that though, we’ll still have several more months to wait before the film hits theaters on December 20th.
