While the initial cast list for Star Wars: Episode VII has finally been revealed, THR is telling us that J.J Abrams and Disney aren’t done casting the film just yet. Apparently, there’s still a major female lead role that needs to be filled.
As we all know, Daisy Ridley is on board as the only female newcomer, and many people think that she will be playing the daughter of Han Solo and Leia. If that turns out to be the case, then it means that the part of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s granddaughter is the one that still hasn’t been cast.
While sources are differing on how large the last female role is, with some saying it’s an important part and others saying it’s small but will be expanded upon in future films, they’re all agreeing that there is indeed more casting to be done for Star Wars: Episode VII. Unfortunately, no one is sure of which actresses could be up for the role, but some are pointing to the previously rumored Lupita Nyong’o and Maisie Richardson-Sellers as potential candidates. However, with Nyong’o now signed on for The Jungle Book, she’s likely out of the running.
Tell us, who would you like to see take the last female lead role in Star Wars: Episode VII? And what do you think of the cast so far, are you pleased with it? Sound off below!
