The 95-year-old writer and film star, whose health has been a topic of increasing concern these past few years, was admitted to hospital upon falling ill at home. But the Internet can breathe a collective sigh of relief, as Lee has been released after spending a single night with doctors.

Not only that, but the industry veteran is happy to have spent some time in care, and extended his thanks to family and friends in a statement released to Eyewitness News:

All I really want to do is tell you that I’m feeling great. I’m glad I spent that evening in the hospital. It did me a lot of good. It probably did my fans a lot of good. It kept me off their backs for the evening. But I’m feeling good now and I can’t wait to get in there and tangle with all the competition.

Truth be told, it’s been a trying time for Stan Lee, who has been faced with allegations of sexual harassment – allegations that both he and his agent categorically deny. As many as six care nurses have come forward to claim that Lee behaved inappropriately in their company, allegedly groping them and openly masturbating, only to try and intimidate them into silence. Nothing has been proven as yet, though, and from what we understand, there is no sign of a criminal investigation.

In closing, Lee added:

It’s nice to know that somewhere in the world there are still people who care about what I say or do,” Lee said. “And it’s nice to know that somewhere in the world there are always people who are fans who care about what people do – the people they’re interested in.

And with Black Panther on the verge of release – a character Stan Lee helped create all those years ago – it’s fitting that the comic book scribe has been given the chance to recover at home.
