From an upcoming Up spin-off short to the much-anticipated dramedy Elemental, Pixar is absolutely crawling with a variety of indispensable projects which keep our heart fluttering and full of nostalgia. And while the majority of these projects are family-friendly commodities that add a healthy dose of innocence, a spooktacular collection of Scream fan art has showcased the Pixar-driven horror movie we never knew we needed — until now.
Over on Twitter, user @screamnhorror humbly shared the re-imagining, with all four posted images outlining the events in Scream — all the way from Drew Barrymore’s iconic phone call scene to a cartoonish Ghostface wielding a butcher knife. Of course, the cherry on top of the blood-stained sundae showcases the Pixar logo and the Scream title card in a pic together. You can check out the post for yourself down below:
Of course, with prior Pixar art stunts providing fans a glimpse at Scooby-Doo horror inspirations, it feels completely acceptable for Scream to have its own animation version. Given the franchise’s widespread popularity, it certainly wouldn’t come as a surprise if passionate horror fanatics flocked to theaters in droves just to witness a blood-splattered Ghostface grinning in an animation style.
The truth is, a concept like this will likely never be brought to fruition, but the beauty of fan art is taking a step back and appreciating content in a style that’s otherwise not familiar. That being said, a cartoonish Ghostface would still likely scare a lot of kids away. So, as much as we’d like to see it, it’s probably best that Scream stays in its own horror lane.
