Sony Pictures and Marvel’s seemingly all-consuming casting spree for Spider-Man: Homecoming continues unabated today, with Deadline reporting that Tyne Daly has closed a deal to star.

Production is finally underway on the New York set of Jon Watts’ hotly-anticipated standalone feature, and just yesterday we clocked eyes on the first action-heavy photos that featured Tom Holland donning the famous suit. Details of the scene remain under lock and key, of course, but sources claim that the actor was filming an intense action sequence that involved him doing his own stunts.

When it comes to the casting of Daly, Deadline didn’t disclose who the Emmy award-winning actress would be playing; all we know for sure is that she’ll be rubbing shoulders with an all-star cast that currently comprises Holland, singer-cum-actress Zendaya, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Michael Keaton in the role of chief big bad, The Vulture.

Elsewhere, it’s been confirmed that Spider-Man: Homecoming will also star Abraham Attah, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Martin Starr and Logan Marshall-Green.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is expected to scurry into theaters in time for July 7, 2017. Should Sony and Marvel decide to pluck any more stars to join its burgeoning ensemble, we’ll keep you posted.
