Warning: this article contains spoilers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
If you’re a huge fan of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, pay close attention as a new sneaker collab has been the talk of the pop culture realm today. A Spider-Man-themed sneaker has been released into the wild in limited quantities. The catch is fans cannot own this special memorabilia.
Sole Savy reported that a Spider-Man-themed Air Jordan 1 Utility Stash, the same pair of shoes featured during the final act of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has been made in real life. However, only 100 pairs were distributed and given to a select group of people connected to the Jordan Brand and Sony Pictures. The footwear is unique for more than it being a superhero collaboration; these were the shoes worn by Earth-42’s Miles Morales when he confronts our hero as The Prowler.
While the public can’t grab hold of these sneakers (unless it goes to the aftermarket), images of the shoes have been made available. The sneakers are black with various shades of purple. They even have multiple pouches attached to them. Not to mention, these sneakers have no official Spider-Man branding attached to them. Alongside the shoes, a tote bag and vials of tissue paper will also be given to those lucky enough to grab their hands on them. Good luck finding a single pair of these shoes on StockX since the chances of that are very low.
Unfortunately, hardcore fans and hype beasts cannot grab hold of the special edition Spider-Man merch, but at least the images shown online will be helpful to dedicated cosplayers who plan to recreate Miles Morales‘ Prowler look in the film. At the moment, there isn’t any news if these limited Air Jordans will go on sale to the public, but at least you can see them on screen since Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters.
