Here come the Men in Black, galaxy defenders…
Production has officially commenced for Sony’s upcoming reboot and to prove it, Just Jared (h/t CBM) has relayed the first set pics of a sharp-suited Chris Hemsworth, who’s clearly traded the MCU for the MIB.
The Avengers: Infinity War actor was pictured with his black suit and black Ray Bans on, and while he’ll inevitably share the screen with a host of A-list talent, Hemsworth was the only one needed for this particular sequence, which appears to involve some sort of investigation into a local case.
Headed up by director F. Gary Gray (The Fate of the Furious), we know Men in Black features a script from Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the duo best known for their work on Iron Man. Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani and Rafe Spall of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom are among the ensemble cast, but perhaps most exciting of all is the Thor: Ragnarok reunion that’s about to transpire, what with Valkyrie herself, Tessa Thompson, expected to rub shoulders with Marvel’s God of Thunder next summer.
So while there’s been a lot of fuss concerning Avengers 4 and Thor’s last hurrah, we can at least take solace in the fact that 2019 will serve up another comedic performance from Chris Hemsworth. Which, after the back-to-back release of Ghostbusters (Kevin) and the spectacular Ragnarok (Thor Odinson), is almost worth the price of admission alone.
Sony’s Men in Black will once again defend Earth from a slew of intergalactic threats when the F. Gary Gray-directed reboot blasts its way into theaters in time for June 14th, 2019.
