It only figures that people are worried about the Tom Holland movie dropping spoilers for Avengers 4.
With Spider-Man: Far From Home confirmed by producer Amy Pascal to be set “a few minutes” after the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, it’s clear that these two upcoming Marvel releases will share some major connections, raising concerns that the promotion for Peter Parker’s next solo outing may give a little too much away about its highly anticipated MCU predecessor. But as MCU Cosmic recently observed, Marvel Studios could well be collaborating with Sony to ensure that that doesn’t happen.
This weekend, Far From Home will be getting the spotlight at Brazil’s CCXP convention, and you may have already seen one of the features on display at the event. Specifically, Spidey’s new stealth suit will be viewable to visitors up close, having previously appeared in various leaked set photos from the European stretch of the film’s production.
When this dark design first emerged online, one of the fan theories it helped spawn was that Peter will be collaborating with a revitalized S.H.I.E.L.D. What’s more, because the film takes place so soon after Avengers 4, it was argued that the universe-changing events of the Russo Brothers’ ensemble picture might be what inspires the reemergence of this organization for Marvel’s Phase 4. The evidence for this speculation was the badge on Peter’s outfit, which some have claimed shows the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo. But with the costume on display at CCXP, whatever design was featured on this chest patch has evidently been removed.
From this, we can gather that Sony is likely aware of their wider responsibilities to the MCU, and if the rumor checks out that the first Spider-Man: Far From Home teaser is dropping on Saturday, fans can probably watch it without fear of surprise spoilers for Avengers 4.
