Snapping up projects at a similar pace to industry confidant Cara Delevingne, The Wrap is reporting that singer-actress-model Sky Ferreira (The Green Inferno) has been added to the ensemble cast for Edgar Wright’s crime drama, Baby Driver.
There, she’ll be flanked by Jamie Foxx, Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm, Lily James, Jon Bernthal and Kevin Spacey, who Ferreira recently teamed with for next month’s presidential comedy Elvis & Nixon. No details were disclosed about her role among Wright’s ensemble, nor how she will play into the core plot of Ansel Elgort’s (The Fault in Our Stars) expert getaway speedster.
Working to the beat of a capricious mob boss (Spacey), Elgort earns the title of Baby Driver due to his young complexion. Equipped with a rock n’ roll soundtrack and a peculiar hearing condition, our unlikely hero fast becomes the most reliable driver in the business, though one encounter with Spacey’s criminal kingpin Doc pushes him in over his head.
Ferreira, on the other hand, has emerged as one of Hollywood’s more exciting up-and-comers. Confirming the casting news via Instagram, the model-turned-actress revealed that “”It just got announced that I’m going to be in Baby Driver directed by @edgar_wright & Rosy directed by Jess Manafort. The Trust with Nicolas Cage & @electrice will premiere tomorrow at SXSW. So yeah. Lots going on this week.” A busy bee indeed.
On the heels of her role opposite Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood in The Trust, Sky Ferreira will be a part of Elvis & Nixon, before Working Title Films and TriStar debut Baby Driver on March 17, 2017.
