We’ve caught a glimpse of the film’s sun-scorched locales and its alleged fleet of ships – now it’s time to take a peek at Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo.
Kitted out in full costume, and rocking a rather classic hairstyle, Ehrenreich has now cropped up in a handful of set photos relayed by TMZ (via CBM), which cast light on everyone’s favorite nerf-herder and two hunks of junk that wouldn’t look out of place on Tatooine. From these images alone, it’s impossible to tell whether the rusty old instruments match up with those aforementioned schematics that leaked online last week, but nevertheless, they present some interesting food for thought. On the other hand, and even when you consider that these are merely set photos, it’s fair to say that Alden Ehrenreich looks the part as the young smuggler.
Set to take place over the course of six years, Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Han Solo anthology film has been likened to an old-school Western, one that looks set to present Harrison Ford’s legendary character as a wet-behind-his-ears smuggler looking to make ends meet in a galaxy far, far away. He won’t do so alone, of course, after enlisting the help of Woody Harrelson’s mentor character, Beckett (Garris Shrike?).
We’ve yet to see Harrelson’s character in the flesh – ditto for Emilia Clarke and Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) – but today brings forth our first true glimpse of Alden Ehrenreich in costume. Just follow the link in the Tweet below to view the photos.

“Kid, I’ve flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff, but I’ve never seen anything to make me believe that there’s one all-powerful Force controlling everything. ‘Cause no mystical energy field controls my destiny.” Will Alden Ehrenreich be able to channel that swashbuckling spirit in a year’s time? We’ll find out when the untitled Han Solo anthology movie opens on May 25th, 2018.
But up first is the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is expected to light up theaters on December 15th of this year.
