A couple of weeks ago, Ant-Man and the Wasp star Michael Douglas confirmed what many of us have long suspected: that the Quantum Realm will be playing an integral part in next year’s Avengers 4. But thanks to this little find from an old interview with Entertainment Tonight, we may have reason to believe that Hank Pym himself will be making an appearance in next year’s release.
As one fan on Reddit points out, at the 3:15 mark in the following video, Sebastian Stan tries to fend off accusations that he previously dropped a spoiler for the then-unreleased Avengers: Infinity War. But when his co-star Anthony Mackie further questions the Bucky Barnes actor about the info that he supposedly spoiled, Stan seems to confirm that Douglas “is in the movie.” And since Hank was a no-show for Infinity War, it stands to reason that he’s referring to the sequel, which was undergoing shoots around the same time as its predecessor.
Perhaps one of the drawbacks of Marvel Studios keeping their cast almost completely in the dark about the films they’re in is that the actors don’t always know what does or doesn’t qualify as a big spoiler. So while Stan doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal that people know Douglas will be in the film, the fact that both of their characters were disintegrated in Thanos’ snap certainly makes this sound like a pretty significant reveal.
Perhaps all those theories about the dusted victims now being trapped in the Soul World were onto something after all. Then again, Stan could be referring to a flashback or time travel, or maybe he’s just stringing us all along. Either way, we’ll find out for sure when Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
