From Captain America’s rumored transition (Nomad, perhaps?) to Hawkeye’s newfound identity, the story rumors for Infinity War and Avengers 4 have been coming in thick and fast.
That largely comes down to the fact that Joe and Anthony Russo chose to shoot both ensemble movies back-to-back, resulting in a bottleneck of photos and leaked set pics. And though we still don’t know very much about either of the aforementioned films, it’s fair to say that both MCU tentpoles are among the most-anticipated movies on the Hollywood calendar.
And for good reason, it seems, as according to Sebastian Stan, Avengers 4 is going to be an “insane juggernaut.” While chatting with Collider in a recent interview to promote his new movie I, Tonya, here’s what the actor had to say about the upcoming Phase 3 closer.
It’s chaotic, but it’s great. That’s another insane juggernaut. It’s a war. It’s chaotic, but it’s fun. Anytime you get down there, there’s a lot of jokes and a lot of pranks. It’s a family. There was a party for the 10-year anniversary, and that was the one day that everybody was there. It took eight months to plan one day. Almost everybody was there. When Jeff Goldblum and William Hurt are in the same room, since The Big Chill, that gives me the chills. It’s pretty special. It’s good. It’s gonna be wild.
Though there aren’t really any juicy details in Stan’s quote, there’s no harm in throwing some more hype into the proceedings. Not that this film needs anymore of that, mind you, as excitement is at an all-time high for both Infinity War and its currently untitled sequel – and the entire upcoming MCU slate, for that matter – but again, it’s nice to hear that Stan’s so enthused about the project and we can’t wait to see what him and his co-stars have put together for us.
Beyond Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios will batten down the hatches in preparation for Avengers 4. It’s currently penciled in for release on May 3rd, 2019, so there’s still plenty of time for Kevin Feige and Co. to drum up excitement for what they consider to be the “finale” of Phase Three.
