Today has certainly been a good day for Guardians of the Galaxy fans. Not only have they been treated to a teaser promo for the upcoming sequel, but it was also revealed that none other than Darkhawk may be putting in an appearance in said film. Not content to let you catch your breath, we now have some news concerning everyone’s favorite talking raccoon and his involvement in Avengers: Infinity War.
By now, anyone intimately familiar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe is well aware that Rocket is voiced by Bradley Cooper, whose performance no doubt helped a previously obscure character capture the hearts of moviegoers and become a household name in the process. But what you may not know, however, is that Sean Gunn, brother of GotG director James Gunn, is the one who actually does all of the on set acting, thereby allowing the major players to give real reactions as opposed to talking to thin air or a green ball.
Not surprisingly, James Gunn took to Twitter and confirmed that Sean will indeed be coming back for the Russo brothers’ Avengers: Infinity War:
He’s not a stand-in. He’s motion reference. We use Sean’s acting and expressions for Rocket. And yes he’s doing that. https://t.co/CAt97WUm4m

What’s not known as of now is whether Sean will reprise his live action role Ravager Kraglin. Honestly, it could go either way, but the Russos may not want to shoehorn in too many supporting characters when they know they have to evenly distribute as much focus as possible on Marvel’s big name heroes. Time will tell.
Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.
