James Mangold may not be Tweeting an image a day like Marc Webb, but the director of The Wolverine is still doing his part to make sure fans get a look at some behind the scenes images of his upcoming film about the most famous of the X-Men.
So far the majority of the official promotion for the film has been focused on the feudal Japanese elements of the film. These pictures serve as a change from that, with one image showing what appears to be sci-fi destruction, and the other showing Wolverine next to a tree he likely destroyed, surveying the damage in the fierce, glowering manner that Hugh Jackman has perfected.
Fans are getting very anxious for a trailer, but they’re going to have to wait until the end of March to see it. Judging by how the film is shaping up, it may be worth seeing G.I. Joe: Retaliation just for the experience of catching The Wolverine‘s trailer on the big screen.
I can hardly wait to see adamantium claws clashing with samurai steel. Although the previous X-Men films were overwhelming disappointments, there was never any problem with Jackman as Wolverine. With this film serving as a stand-alone entity, apart from the previous films, I’m very hopeful that Mangold can finally give the character the awesome film he deserves.
As Magold’s Tweet says, there’s a world through that blast hole, and I’m excited to see it.
The Wolverine slashes its way into theaters July 26th and also stars Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee. Be sure to check back for more news and images from the film. As always, we’ll bring it to you as soon as it is released.
