Casting has continued for The Making Of Psycho. While there are already two A-List names in the starring roles, we now have information on who will be taking on some of the supporting parts.
Already attached to the cast for this film are Anthony Hopkins, who has signed on to play the iconic director, Alfred Hitchcock. Joining him is Helen Mirren, who will play his wife Alma. As for the director, Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) is at the helm.
Joining the cast this week were Hollywood It! Girl, Scarlett Johansson and British hunk, James D’Arcy. They are set to play Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins – the stars of Psycho.
The film is based on a book of the same name that chronicled Alfred Hitchcock at the height of his success as he decided to direct this low-taste horror film – which unbeknownst to the studios that turned him down for financing, would become the ultimate in horror classics. John McLaughlin, who also penned the highly acclaimed Black Swan, will be penning the script.
The comparison between this film and the recent surprise hit, My Week With Marilyn, raises eyebrows for some. Although Scarlett Johansson seems to be a perfect match for the role, Michelle Williams would have been just as good.
As for James D’Arcy, he’s still a lesser-known actor, despite having had roles in films like Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World and W.E. Hopefully this role will help bring him more recognition.
Critics are already pegging this film to have some Awards potential so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.
