Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t starve for work. Maybe I should’ve included explicit language in that remark, to make it more appropriate, but we can’t change the past, so let’s move on. The 68-year-old workaholic is constantly bouncing between Hollywood’s biggest and newest properties, and that won’t be changing any time soon.
The mega-popular actor will be reprising his supporting role as Frozone in Brad Bird’s The Incredibles 2, and while details are still scarce, he’s now revealed some brief teases regarding the icy superhero companion’s return to the big screen. Appropriately, it sounds pretty cool.
Speaking with Collider about next month’s Kong: Skull Island, Jackson talked briefly about his upcoming animated return. He couldn’t say much, of course, but he did confirm his involvement.
We’ve been in the studio one day so far. One day so far, but I don’t know if that’s a dedicated recording or pre-recording, so they could start to animate against what I said. I think it’s going to be pretty awesome. Everyone’s been waiting to see, more than anything, what Jack-Jack evolved into.
Among all the Pixar originals, The Incredibles always seemed to be one of the most sequel-friendly. That being said, writer/director Brad Bird has taken his sweet, sweet time in bringing the superhero family back for more. As such, there are a lot of expectations on the follow-up to deliver, and while Jackson doesn’t reveal much, or anything at all, really, it’s great to know that things are going well so far.
The actor might play a cool character on-screen in the upcoming sequel, but anticipation for this one is scorching hot. We’ll see if the extended wait was worth it when The Incredibles 2 blasts into theaters on June 15, 2018. Kong: Skull Island, meanwhile, crashes into cinemas on March 10th.
