Samantha Morton is the latest actress to join David Cronenberg’s upcoming film Cosmopolis. Morton joins a cast that includes names like Robert Pattinson and Keira Knightley. Originally, Colin Farrell was set to star, and then Robert Pattinson replaced him. Farrell had to leave due to scheduling issues with Total Recall. Marion Cotillard was also set to star but then was replaced by Keira Knightley due to the fact that Pattinson replaced Farrell. Also thrown into the crazy mix of a cast is Paul Giamatti, Juliette Binoche and Mathieu Amalric.
Anyways, it looks like they now have the cast in order and the film is gearing up for its May shoot, in Toronto. For those unfamiliar with it, it’s based on the novel by Don DeLillo and follows “24 hours in the life of newly married billionaire Eric Packer (Pattinson) as he cheats on his wife, is pursued by a stalker (Paul Giamatti), gets attacked by a protester and gradually loses his entire fortune over the course of a single day.”
It sounds interesting and I’m down to see anything Cronenberg does. What do you think? Looking forward to Cosmopolis?
