You’ve no doubt heard of the Zack Snyder cut, and perhaps the frankly ridiculous female-free version of The Last Jedi, but what about Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut?
It’s officially a thing that exists, according to Ryan Reynolds, and it’ll be available on Blu-Ray and DVD from August 21st – two weeks after its debut on digital.
The exact details of Deadpool 2‘s bumper package remain under lock and key, but there have been rumblings of a behind-the-scenes featurette dedicated to the musical mash-up involving Celine Dion (!) and the Merc With a Mouth. Other bonus features likely include a gag reel and some deleted scenes that inevitably wound up on the cutting room floor. All in all, it’s said to be “spandexier” than the theatrical version.
Over to you, Wade Wilson:
Of course, this is in addition to the uncut version of Deadpool 2 expected to screen at San Diego Comic-Con. The sequel’s co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have promised a “little something special” and a slew of surprises when it comes to Deadpool 2: Uncut, meaning we’ll likely get a better read on The Super Duper Cut and its own bonus content next weekend.
Remember, SDCC 2018 kicks off Thursday, July 19th, and most of the major panels will take place on Saturday and Sunday. And while Marvel Studios is skipping Hall H for the second year on the trot, all eyes in the comic book movie industry will be trained on San Diego very soon, as the Powers That Be bring their big guns for what is sure to be a special showcase. Trust Deadpool, then, to bring his own unique spin on the SDCC formula.
Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut will make its digital debut on August 7th before expanding to Blu-ray and DVD two weeks later. Will you be checking it out? Be sure to let us know by commenting down below.
